Just when I thought all my displays were functioning properly, the damn bulb for the clock/date display on my OBC blows out.
The only way to see it now is shining a super bright light on it. Grrr.
Guess this is an excuse to swap everything over to LEDs. I have a blown out bulb on my instrument cluster too. Might be doing that when I get home if we can source the right bulbs locally.
At least the OBC is super easy to remove from the center stack. No screws or anything, just some somewhat strong clips. A few screwdriver prys and its out.
Checked all the fuses for cruise and my OBC and they're all good. I can only rule the cruise control down to the module behind the glovebox or the controller in the engine bay. OBC I'm fucking clueless about. Kinda annoying. At least my range isn't stuck on 195 anymore!

It's an E36, did you really expect that everything would work perfectly AT THE SAME TIME?

I did for like a month!
Well, if you only count working light bulbs since I had a dash full of warning lights for the first week of ownership...

There is always something...
Also, that is one complicated computer. Do you use all that?

At least it's marginally legible. Usually they just go scrambled pixel and you can't read shit.

My 1st 2 E36's had perfect pixels and bulbs. My newest one has busted pixels & no working bulbs :(

Yeah, luckily it's just the backlight bulb that's out. The LCDs themselves all work perfectly.

The only thing that I use often is the fuel range. I'd use the average MPG consumption if it worked. The Check Control is nice since it tells me if anything goes wrong on the car, like a tail light out or something.

check control? it displays OBDII codes?

I'm not sure if it shows OBDII codes or just what the code means. It has sensors absolutely everywhere so I'd imagine it tells you damn near everything.

So you can know exactly what broke down as soon as it happens... nice.
I always wondered why the base-model computer looked so barren. now I know.
